Fleet Maintenance Technician

Dallas Texas

$30–$35 per hour + potential to earn monthly bonuses

About the Role
Barnsco Texas is seeking an experienced Fleet Maintenance Technician to help keep our fleet safe, reliable, and fully operational. This hands-on role is critical to minimizing downtime and ensuring DOT/FMCSA compliance across our commercial vehicles, trailers, forklifts, and shop equipment. What You’ll Do

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel, CNG, and gasoline-powered fleet vehicles
• Perform preventive maintenance on tractors, trailers, service trucks, vans, forklifts, and shop equipment
• Repair engines, transmissions, clutches, brakes, electrical systems, and related components
• Conduct internal DOT inspections and address deficiencies from driver pre- and post-trip inspections
• Test-drive repaired equipment (via ride-along with CDL driver) to verify DOT/FMCSA compliance
• Complete work orders, repair documentation, and parts tracking using fleet maintenance software
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Use hand, power, and pneumatic tools to perform repairs efficiently and safely

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum 2 years of mechanical experience
• ASE T5 Brake Certification required (additional ASE certifications a plus)
• CDL preferred but not required
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays
• Strong problem-solving, time management, and communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic work order systems
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly (up to 75 lbs with assistance) and work in shop/outdoor environments

Tools & Equipment

• Must have own basic essential tools (specialty tools provided)
