Employment Period: May – August, 2025
Compensation: $15,000-$20,000 (commensurate with experience) plus 1 personal season gate pass (plus gate passes for immediate family), and 1 season auto pass.

Type: Seasonal Contractor

Reports to: The Director of Religious Life

Position Overview

The All-Level Youth Coordinator (ages 4-17) plays a vital role in fostering a safe, inclusive, and spiritually enriching environment for children, tweens, and teens at Lakeside Chautauqua during its summer season. This position has dual responsibilities: to oversee and coordinate scheduling and engagement at “The Underground”—a dedicated youth hangout space for ages 14 and up—and to serve as the primary program lead for teens ages 14–17. Additionally, the All-Level Youth Coordinator will support Children’s Ministry (ages 4–9) and Middle School (ages 10-13) programming as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Primary Role ( ages 14-17)
    • Plan, implement, and evaluate creative, faith-forming, pedagogically sound, and age-appropriate programming for youth ages 14-17, including spiritual formation, recreation, service opportunities, and leadership development.
    • Serve as the lead staff presence for The Underground, coordinating a weekly schedule of supervised drop-in times, structured activities, special events, and guest interactions.
    • Coordinate a weekly schedule of youth volunteer workers to assist in staffing The Underground
    • Foster a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment that encourages faith formation and investigation, friendship, and broader community engagement
  2. Secondary Roles (ages 4-13)
    • Serve as a backup for the Children’s Ministry and Middle School Ministry staff, including classroom assistance, worship assistance, recreational supervision, and spiritual leadership.
    • Collaborate with the Children’s and Middle School teams to ensure continuity of care and programming across age groups.
    • Step into leadership roles during staff absences, emergencies, or peak programming weeks.
  3. Administration & Collaboration
    • The All-Level Youth Coordinator will work with The Director of Religious Life to prepare and manage youth programming budgets, taking into consideration all Lakeside Chautauqua administrative procedures.
    • Participate in regular staff meetings, offering updates on youth (and children’s, as needed) activities.
    • Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and the wider community about upcoming events and opportunities for youth and assist middle school and children’s staff to facilitate the communication of their programming across the age spectrum.
  4. Program Evaluation
    • The All-Level Youth Coordinator will gather feedback, attendance, and assess youth program effectiveness throughout the season and offer secondary feedback on children’s and middle school programming.
    • Make recommendations for improvements and provide a summary report at the end of the summer season, due no later than 30 Sept 2025.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in youth and children’s ministries, or related fields.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Excellent worship music leadership skills a strong plus, but not crucial.
  • Ability to cultivate a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment for participants, their families and volunteer staff.
  • Live within a reasonable driving distance of Lakeside, Chautauqua, suitable for daily commute.

Compensation

  • Total Salary: $15,000-$20,000 (commensurate with experience) for the entire summer season, covering all youth and related middle school and children’s responsibilities. The leader will be paid during May- August according to the normal pay schedule (every 2 weeks), as outlined by Lakeside’s HR department.

Additional Benefits

  • 1 personal season gate pass (plus gate passes for immediate family), and 1 season auto pass.
