Boutique Tax Law Firm looking for qualified associate to assist in Federal Tax Controversy Practice helping individuals and businesses with federal tax issues. The associate will handle a large docket of cases in search of solutions for a client's particular federal tax issues to include (1) IRS audits and appeals, both administratively and within the Tax Court, (2) IRS collection of income or payroll taxes ranging from tens of thousands of dollars to multi-million dollar cases, (3) assisting in the defense of federal district court collection cases brought by the Department of Justice, Tax Division, (4) representing taxpayers and tax professionals in criminal matters and (5) other problem solving matters dealing with the IRS and federal taxes. The ideal candidate will be a law school graduate who has (1) excellent law school grades with a law review background; (2) passed the bar exam in any state; (3) worked with federal tax matters while in Government service or private practice; and (4) demonstrated an ability to handle adversity and high stress situations. The ideal candidate will also have a high level of integrity, a heart to serve and to help clients, and have the ability to persevere despite adversity and likely obstacles. The candidate will also have a desire to grow the practice and eventually obtain equity ownership in the firm. Salary is commensurate with experience.
