Job Description:

The Special Education Therapy Assistant (Summer Position) provides an excellent opportunity to gain meaningful experience working one-on-one with children aged 2-3 with autism, under the guidance and supervision of a Special Education Teacher and Licensed Behavior Analysts (LBA). You will also gain insights and training from clinicians specializing in Speech and Occupational Therapy. This is a great opportunity for students or professionals interested in gaining practical summer experience in special education, ABA, Speech, or OT fields.

Duration:

Immediate start through the end of August (flexible end date)

Compensation:

• $16.50 per hour
• Opportunity for a rate increase based on performance
• Potential summer completion bonus

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED (Required)
• Availability Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm, throughout the summer
• Ability to lift 40 lbs and ensure child safety
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination

• Interested in gaining practical summer experience in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Psychology, Speech-Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, or healthcare
• Committed to professional growth and making a meaningful impact
• Reliable, team-oriented, and enthusiastic
• Spanish/English bilingual is a plus

The McCarton Foundation is a non-profit organization on a mission to bring exceptional treatment and services to children with autism and other developmental disabilities. We believe in the ability that exists within every child and that all children deserve the opportunity to reach their full potential.

In Fall 2018, the McCarton Foundation opened our Bronx Center - an Early Intervention agency providing center-based and home-based services in ABA, Speech, Physical and Occupational Therapies to young children at no cost to families. Join us this summer in making a difference in children’s lives.
