Job Purpose

The Shuttle Driver & Operations Support role is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of students and staff between AIS campuses and designated sites. In addition to driving responsibilities, the position supports general operations at the Buckhead campus during non-driving hours. This hybrid role ensures transportation reliability while contributing to the daily functioning and efficiency of school operations.

Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate with the Operations Coordinator and Facilities team for maintenance scheduling.

  • Student Transportation
  • Operate school-owned shuttles safely between AIS campuses and local drop-off/pick-up points
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report issues promptly
  • Maintain a safe, calm environment on board in compliance with school transportation policies
  • Report delays, incidents, or safety concerns to the Director of Operations immediately
  • Ensure student accountability during loading/unloading and adhere to traffic laws at all times
  • Operations Support – Buckhead Campus
  • Assist with daily campus operations including equipment setup, event prep, and general support
  • Help transport and deliver materials, supplies, and packages between campus buildings as needed
  • Support the Facilities and Operations teams with light maintenance, logistics, or repair tasks
  • Serve as an extra set of hands during high-volume periods such as school events or campus transitions
  • Respond to immediate, task-based needs identified by the Operations team
  • Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with all AIS transportation safety procedures and Georgia state driving regulations
  • Maintain clean, organized shuttle interiors and exteriors
  • Assist with emergency preparedness procedures related to school transport as needed
  • Communicate professionally with students, staff, and parents to represent AIS operations
  • Vehicle Care & Reporting
  • Track mileage, fuel use, and maintenance needs; ensure vehicle is fueled and operational each day
  • Complete daily logs and submit reports on transportation activities and incidents

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Georgia driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Minimum 2 years of driving experience (school, shuttle, or commercial preferred)
  • Prior experience in operations, logistics, or facilities support preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, assist with physical tasks, and work both indoors and outdoors
  • Strong communication, dependability, and flexibility

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while driving
  • Ability to walk, bend, lift, and perform manual tasks during operations support duties
  • Must be able to perform duties in a variety of weather conditions

WORK ENVIRONMENT & SCHEDULING

  • Primary work location: Buckhead Campus (with inter-campus travel as needed)
  • Standard hours: 8 hours/day; includes split time between shuttle driving and operations support
  • May occasionally require adjusted hours for early dismissals, events, or emergencies

Daily coordination with Facilities, Security, and Operations teams
