We are currently looking for Shift Lead/Assistant Manager candidates for our Auburn location.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

· Lead store and/or shift operations including guest engagement/service, production, inventory, scheduling, personnel, cash drawer, cleaning, reporting, etc.

· Help train and lead a team focused on providing a wonderful Buff City Soap experience for all our guests

· Track inventory of raw materials, finished products and supplies

· Identify, communicate and delegate responsibilities to team members to ensure smooth flow of operations

· Multitask related to product production and engaging with guests

· Help lead team in a player/coach role working to create and maintain an upbeat, fast-paced and fun environment

· Some travel to visit our Montgomery Buff City Soap location

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Basic computer skills and knowledge

· Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time

· Must not be overly sensitive to various scents and fragrances

· Dexterity of hands and fingers

· Ability to lift or assist in lifting items and heavy bags/ boxes up to 50 pounds

· Ability to walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, twist, stoop, kneel and crouch

· Ability to perform a variety of cleaning tasks to help keep our Makery clean for both our guests and team members

SCHEDULE:

Shop hours vary slightly based on the shopping center of each store, but our Auburn location hours are currently 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. M-Sat and 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Sundays. However, we have some extended hours for the holidays and special events, as well as slightly shortened summer hours.

· Flexible hours, but some weekend/holiday work is naturally needed in our retail environment

EDUCATION:

· High school degree or equivalent required

EXPERIENCE:

· Leadership experience of 1-2 years in retail/restaurant industry preferred

Why We Make Soap

Most of the trusted brands you wash with are made with detergents, chemicals, and tallow, which is just another name for cow fat. Sulfates, artificial detergents, and parabens can cause irritation, trigger allergies, and have other unpleasant side effects.

That does not exactly say “refreshing” shower or bath to us. That is why we set out on a mission to make bath and skin care products locally without harsh chemicals and preservatives.

We use simple ingredients that are safe for your skin and contain ingredients you can actually pronounce.

Our Soap Makery

We handcraft each bar of soap and our many other products in what we call our Soap Makeries. Each of our locations makes these products onsite right in front of our guests in a very transparent process that allows our guests to see what they are putting on their body and using for their clothes. 

We keep our Makeries stocked with ingredients like essential oils, shea butter, sugar and charcoal. What you will never see are those artificial detergents, surfactants, dyes or other harsh chemicals.

We even have our fragrances manufactured for us to ensure they are free of phthalates, parabens, and formaldehyde containing/forming ingredients. You can also customize your products with the scent (or non-scent) of your choice.
