We are working with a small CPA firm that is targeting a Senior Tax Associate to join their team. The ideal candidate has 4+ years pf experience out of a small-midsized CPA firm. Please apply if this role interests you, the client is looking to move quickly!!

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review corporate (both C and S), partnership, fiduciary and individual tax returns.
• Understand complex issues such as R&D IRC 174 capitalization rules, specific allocations under 704(b) and 704(c), grouping elections under 469 & 199A, etc.
• Understand the tax difference between an ISO, NSO, and RSU from both a corporate perspective as well as an individual perspective.
• FinCen, FATCA, and foreign trust reporting requirements
• Understanding related party and foreign discloser reporting requirements, including 1042-S, 5471, & 5472.
• They must be able to prepare a multi-state tax accrual worksheet.
• Be able to take Excel data and through coding grouping of trial balance accounts.
• Conduct in-depth tax research to ensure compliance with current tax laws and regulations and then explain it to staff
• Proficient in understanding GAAP and tax basis and how that relates to a general ledger.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
• Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations regarding tax positions.
