Senior Research Associate, Discovery Biology

W2 Contract-to-Hire

Salary Range: $93,600 - $114,400 per year

Location: Redwood City, CA - Onsite Role

Job Summary:

As a Senior Research Associate, you will join a high-functioning team of cell biologists, biochemists, and chemical biologists to help identify new molecules of interest, characterize compounds with novel mechanisms of action, and identify new potential targets. You will contribute to our Discovery Biology pipeline from the bench by taking responsibility for developing, optimizing, and troubleshooting new biochemical and cellular assays. The ideal candidate is an open-minded and enthusiastic team player who enjoys problem-solving and collaborating cross-functionally to help bring novel therapies to patients.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• BS with 5+ years of experience or MS with 3+ years of experience in Molecular/Cell Biology, Chemical Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or a related discipline.
• Proficiency with mammalian cell culture techniques and experience working with diverse cell lines from various tissue and disease backgrounds
• Demonstrated proficiency with a wide range of molecular biology and cellular techniques (e.g., Lentiviral Transduction, 2D and 3D cell culture, SDS-PAGE/Western blot, qPCR, CRISPR-based gene editing) and relevant assay technologies (e.g., AlphaLISA/ELISA, high-content microscopy, Luciferase, CellTiter-Glo, TR-FRET/BRET, MSD, flow cytometry)
• Experience in microplate-based assay systems and operation of plate readers or microscopes.
• Familiarity with data processing and visualization tools for data analysis (e.g., GraphPad Prism, Genedata Screener, R, etc.).
• Knowledge of biochemistry and relevant biochemical techniques is preferred (e.g., protein expression, protein purification, bioconjugation chemistries, SPR, ITC, DSF, FP, etc.).
