Scientific - Associate Research Scientist

Job Title: Associate Research Scientist
Location: San Diego, CA ONSITE (Schedule will vary. CW may be required to work a Saturday, and some days hours will be around 10:00am-6:00pm)

4. A B.S. degree in a scientific discipline with >2 years research experience (experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry preferred).

Position Summary:
Participate as part of the Oncogenesis PD assay team (CITRE and US) in processing of patient samples, control storage of vials and deliver sample to analysis teams to provide data in different clinical trials.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Support in providing timely PD data during Phase I trials from ONC-TRC to support
2. Accountable for planning, coordinating, and processing of clinical samples within the guidelines set by established clinical trial protocols
3. Responsible for chain of custody documentation for samples, including entry of key data elements into internal databases
4. Collaborate with the clinical sample management team to deliver samples to analysis teams for timely data reporting
5. Identification and escalation of issues to clinical trial points of contact to ensure resolution
6. Organize inventory of patient samples. Enter and update database information for different clinical trials
7. Organize stock of reagents
8. Keep a record of the batches of reagents used with each patient sample

Qualifications & Experience:

1. A B.S. degree in a scientific discipline with >2 years research experience (experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry preferred).
2. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
3. Experience working in a BSL2+ environment
4. Hands-on experience working with primary cell cultures and immortalized cell lines
5. Knowledge of clinical trials and biomarkers
6. Flexible to adapt to changing work assignments
7. Ability to collaborate with scientists, vendor labs, and other internal team players
8. Good Computer skills (mainly Microsoft Office package and databases)
9. High capacity of teamwork
10. Autonomy
