Job Title: Pediatric Intensivist
Location: Lake Charles, LA

Compensation:

• Base Salary: Starting at $280,000+

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Intensivist to join our dynamic team in Lake Charles, LA. This position offers the opportunity to work in a well-established healthcare system, with direct access to a strong referral network of over 50 employed primary care providers and a robust community provider alignment. The successful candidate will provide critical care to pediatric patients in a 5-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and a 10-bed general pediatric unit, performing life-saving procedures and ensuring excellent patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Care:

  • Provide specialized care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU.
  • Manage and oversee treatments for a wide range of pediatric conditions requiring intensive care.
  • Perform procedures such as moderate sedation, chest tubes, intubations, central lines, and arterial lines.

• Call Rotation:

  • Participate in a call schedule rotation to ensure 24/7 coverage for pediatric critical care patients.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide seamless and continuous care.

• Collaboration:

  • Work closely with an excellent support staff to deliver comprehensive care to pediatric patients.
  • Coordinate with primary care providers and specialists to develop treatment plans.
  • Maintain strong communication with the referral base to ensure the highest level of patient care.

• Facility Overview:

  • 10-bed Pediatrics unit and a 5-bed PICU equipped with advanced medical technology.
  • Collaborative environment with highly trained nurses and medical support staff.

Qualifications:

• Board Certification/Board Eligibility in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine.
• Strong procedural skills, including intubations, chest tubes, central lines, and more.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle critical situations with confidence.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient-centered care.
