Job Description
Incumbent is a sworn law enforcement officer in the Bureau of Insurance Fraud, responsible for investigative activities, including extensive investigations, follow‑up on leads, conducting interviews, executing search warrants, making arrests, collecting and preserving evidence, and providing expert testimony. The position requires a 24/7 on‑call status, firearms proficiency, and validation of law enforcement certification.
Responsibilities
Conduct extensive investigations and follow‑up on leads.
Interview witnesses, interrogate suspects, and submit findings.
Execute search warrants and make arrests as necessary.
Collect, secure, transport, and document evidence.
Prepare and present evidence to prosecuting attorneys.
Provide expert testimony and assist in witness preparation.
Identify and recruit confidential sources.
Conduct background investigations of prospective employees.
Maintain liaison with the Prosecutor and other public safety entities.
Respond to disaster relief duties when called.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Active Florida Law Enforcement Compliance/Certification of Equivalency (from Florida Department of Law Enforcement).
Valid driver’s license issued by Florida Department of Safety and Motor Vehicles.
Minimum age 19.
Three (3) or more years of sworn law enforcement experience.
Knowledge of investigative and surveillance principles.
Knowledge of criminal justice system.
Ability to work in dangerous and stressful situations.
Ability to gather, preserve, describe, and interpret evidence.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.
Experience with physical abilities test, oral and written exam, and CJSTC background check.
Preferred Qualifications
College degree from an accredited institution.
Bilingual verbal or written skills.
Additional certifications such as Correctional Officer or Probation Officer are not considered.
Salary & Benefits
Salary: $60,000.00 – $63,000.00 (LEI I and LEI II) plus CAD $4,999.80 for Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties.

Selection Process
