Job Description Position Purpose: Designers support three primary store priorities: Customers First, In Stock, and Store Appearance. They provide fast, thorough, and friendly service to customers by welcoming them, assessing their project needs, offering showroom tours, and assisting with measurements and design recommendations. Designers also manage stock levels of samples and brochures, and ensure displays and showrooms are appealing and safe, thereby driving sales and supporting store goals. Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities: Provide fast, friendly service by actively seeking out customers, greeting them warmly, and engaging with open-ended questions to understand their needs. Show enthusiasm and handle multiple customers when necessary. Express appreciation to customers and follow up via telephone when appropriate. Maintain knowledge of products and services, answering questions and explaining features, benefits, and project steps. Assist with special orders and installed sales. Nature and Scope: Be aware of environmental hazards such as uneven floors, dust, noise, drafts, slippery surfaces, and fumes from forklifts and other equipment. Handle merchandise and tools with care, including those with sharp edges or hazardous materials. Environmental Job Requirements: Environment: Usually in a comfortable setting but with exposure to dust, fumes, odors, and physical discomfort. Travel: Typically less than 10% overnight travel.
