Position Summary This position is a seasoned expert that demonstrates a high degree of technical knowledge for infrastructure and communications processes and supports system defined objectives relative to the company’s business and healthcare requirements. Assumes the role of project leader for large scale projects to lead, plan, design, implement and support Information Technology infrastructure, networks, hardware and applications. Identifies, investigates, tracks, and resolves multi-level project, system or application errors ensuring the resolution is timely with a high degree of accuracy and quality. Designs end user training and curriculum for applications and systems. Facilitates the initial rollout and ongoing support of the user community. Defines expectations and provides recommendations to improve performance. Technology Standards: Leads, plans, prioritizes and coordinates projects requiring interaction between departments and vendors. Develops project plans, schedules and critical path timelines. Monitors installed systems and infrastructure per SOP. Conducts high-level root cause analysis for service interruption and establishes preventive measures. Clearly document the design, maintenance and support procedures. Create technical documents (process maps, BRDs, system diagrams, test plans, work instructions, etc.). Stores documents in a central location for IT access. Develops testing scenarios and supports functional and integration testing plans. Provides technical expertise to resolve complex problems and coordinates change management per ITIL standards. Innovation and Futures: Proposes process improvements and participates in change programs. Plans implementation activities with change champions. Interprets strategic directions and sets objectives and standards. Monitors progress and seeks continuous improvements. Advisor and Partner: Provides leadership for IT staff and committees guiding design, implementation and maintenance of complex systems. Maintains current knowledge of healthcare IT and related certifications as required. Applies up-to-date knowledge of hardware, software and networks. Communication: Improves team communication, promotes diversity, and presents information effectively to varied audiences. Ensures understanding and facilitates input. Measurements: Defines success metrics and tracks KPIs across work effort. Strategic/Leadership: Mentors junior staff, coaches others, and supports professional development. Encourages teamwork and continuous improvement. Develops, directs, coaches, and reinforces team members in line with the organization’s mission and goals. Promotes collaboration, allocates roles, and supports change management. Responsibilities (Additional) Customer Service: Maintains awareness of internal and external customer needs and proactively meets or exceeds them. Communicates progress toward resolution and options when addressing issues. Policy and Compliance: Performs functions in accordance with policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, ITSM and ITIL standards. Manages changes and approvals as required. Infrastructure Focus: Responsible for selected infrastructure applications or systems in a fast-paced environment. Participates in meetings, planning sessions, and implementation activities. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Strong knowledge of technology typically obtained through a bachelor's degree in computer science or related field. Some assignments require certification/credentialing. Four to seven years’ experience in a healthcare environment or an equivalent combination of relevant education, technical, business and healthcare experience. Must demonstrate general IT and healthcare knowledge, ability to plan medium-scale projects, and strong communication/presentation skills. Must be able to mentor less experienced team members. Ability to work variable shifts, pager responsibilities may be required. Preferred Qualifications Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
