HR Intern

JOB SUMMARY: The HR Intern will support the HR department in various analytical and administrative functions. This internship provides an excellent opportunity for students or recent graduates to gain hands-on experience and start a career in human resources. The HR Intern will assist in data management, reporting, and process improvement initiatives to enhance HR.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the administration of monthly and quarterly distribution center incentives.
  • Support the administration of Hourly DC compensation.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret HR data to support decision-making processes.
  • Support the preparation and maintenance of HR reports and dashboards.
  • Conduct research on HR best practices and industry trends to inform policies and programs.
  • Respond to inquiries from employees regarding HR policies and procedures.
  • Assist in accrual processes of incentives and other related programs.
  • Assist in entering employee personal information into HR tools and systems.
  • Stay current with new technologies and apply knowledge to enhance processes.
  • Collaborate with HR team members on various projects aimed at improving HR processes and systems and suggest improvements.
  • Assist the HR department in preparing for audits.
  • Maintain organized records and documentation.
  • Support ad-hoc requests and perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human Resources, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate insights.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint, and Power BI a plus.

REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn about HR practices and processes.
  • Excellent judgment and conflict management skills.
  • Experience in database, data analytics, and visualization tools is a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Physical demands are consistent with a professional office setting.
  • Regular sitting at workstation for 25 75% of the work shift.
  • Frequent standing and walking.
