As a Grooming Salon Leader at Petco, you will lead salon operations and salon team members, while delivering expert grooming services to our valued customers' pets. Your passion for people and for pets will ensure a positive experience for our partners and exceptional care for every pet, leaving them looking and feeling their best. The Grooming Salon Leader is responsible for delivering a high level of customer satisfaction, fostering a positive work environment, driving salon performance, and developing and coaching both entry-level and seasoned groomers. Responsibilities include overseeing day-to-day operations of the grooming salon, optimizing scheduling and grooming capacity, managing inventory, recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising grooming staff, creating efficient grooming schedules, monitoring salon performance metrics, collaborating with store management to achieve sales targets, providing exceptional customer service, performing expert grooming services such as bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts and styling, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and gland cleaning, operating grooming instruments, evaluating individual pet needs, educating pet parents on grooming maintenance, ensuring pet safety and well-being, maintaining a clean and safe grooming area, and adhering to Petco's grooming policies and standards. The role requires 2+ years of professional grooming experience or completion of a technical grooming training program, strong leadership skills, expert knowledge of dog breeds and grooming standards, strong communication skills, and availability to work full time including weekends, evenings, and holidays. The work environment is indoors, may be noisy and wet, and requires physical activity such as bending, kneeling, lifting, and standing for long periods.
