Overview: The Fleet Maintenance Manager will oversee and manage the company’s fleet of vehicles and equipment, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and reliability. This role focuses on strategic oversight, including life-cycle analysis, cost-benefit evaluations, and the development of data-driven recommendations for equipment acquisition, maintenance, and disposal. This person will negotiate with external vendors and drive operational excellence through fleet analysis and performance monitoring. Reflects Company Values: Teamwork, Integrity, Accountability Daily Duties: Fleet Analysis and Acquisition: Evaluate the cost-benefit of maintaining aging equipment versus acquiring new or leased vehicles and equipment. Perform lifecycle analysis to determine the useful lifespan of equipment and identify optimal timing for sale or replacement. Develop and present data-driven recommendations for equipment acquisitions aligned with company needs and budget. Research and assess new technologies and equipment to enhance operational efficiency and sustainability. Track all new vehicle acquisitions, ensuring proper documentation and alignment with company policies. Manage annual registrations, taxes, and other compliance requirements for all company vehicles and equipment. Vendor and Cost Management: Negotiate pricing and service agreements with external maintenance vendors, ensuring quality and cost efficiency. Maintain strong relationships with vendors to facilitate timely servicing and parts availability. Analyze and report on maintenance costs to ensure alignment with the budget and operational goals. Maintain and regularly update comprehensive lists of vehicles and equipment to support accounting, insurance, and operational needs. Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize fleet management software and other tools to generate reports on equipment performance, utilization, and costs. Analyze data to identify underperforming or over-utilized equipment and recommend adjustments. Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for equipment maintenance and utilization. Position Requirements: Education: Degree in Business or equivalent field preferred. Attention to detail and advanced organizational skills. Ability to work independently, as well as within a cross-functional team environment. Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve practical problems, make logical decisions and communicate ideas. Performs other duties as assigned. Always make safety a priority. Working Conditions: Physical Requirements: Sit, walk, kneel, bend, crawl, and crouch for extended periods of time. Ability to adjust the controls of machines or vehicle quickly and repeatedly to exact positions. Ability to judge the distances between you and an object, depth perception. Ability to respond to a signal when it appears, reaction time. Coordinate the use of hands, arms, and legs fully. Reach for handle and use it to manipulate objects and materials. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Vision – ability to see details at close range and details at distance (either naturally or with correction). Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Mental and visual attention is necessary to effectively complete work tasks. Environmental Conditions: Work outside and exposed to weather. Wear protective or safety equipment, i.e. safety boots/shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, etc. May be exposed to high levels of noise, grease, dust, and a variety of substances that are typically associated with a construction site.
