Our Corporate office is seeking a Finance Intern to join our team. This internship, expected to run from May through August, offers a unique opportunity to gain broad exposure across multiple Finance functions, including FP&A, Business Finance, Treasury, and M&A Finance. Throughout the program, you will assist with financial data analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, while learning how Finance supports strategic and operational decision-making. Key takeaways from this role include developing strong analytical and problem-solving skills, gaining hands-on experience with financial modeling and reporting, and building a comprehensive understanding of Finance operations within a dynamic corporate environment. This position is ideal for students pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics who are eager to explore diverse Finance career paths and strengthen their foundational skill set. This is a hybrid work opportunity. We're specifically seeking candidates who reside in the Plymouth, MN area.

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the hourly rate for this position is $21 per hour.

Primary Job Functions
  • Rotate through multiple Finance functions, supporting teams such as FP&A, Business Finance, Treasury, and M&A Finance.
  • Assist with financial data collection, analysis, and reporting across different areas of Finance.
  • Support monthly reporting, budgeting, and forecasting activities under the guidance of Finance team members.
  • Help prepare financial models, analyses, and summaries related to business performance, cash flow, and investments.
  • Assist with M&A-related activities such as data gathering, organizing diligence materials, and supporting financial analysis.
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentation materials for internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives across the Finance organization.
  • Collaborate with Finance team members and cross-functional partners throughout each rotation.
Education/Qualifications
  • Must be actively enrolled in a college or university degree program to be eligible for an internship. Candidates who have already graduated or will graduate before the start of the summer intern program are not eligible.
  • Preferably pursuing bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • Preferably students between their junior and senior years.
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (Junior or Senior preferred).
  • Strong academic performance (3.2 GPA or Higher) with a demonstrated interest in Finance or Accounting.
  • Strong interest in exploring multiple areas of Finance through a rotational program.
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with PowerPoint and Word preferred.
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to new responsibilities quickly.
  • Strong communication skills and a willingness to ask questions and learn.
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
WEG hires employees and makes decisions about their salary qualifications based on factors such as: the role to be performed; educational and professional experience, qualifications, skills and credentials; tenure, cost-of-living and demand for the role in the applicable market. To comply with state pay transparency laws, we must disclose the entire salary grade. The entire salary grade for those who are classified as the Intern level is $38,700.00 to$ 54,200.00. However, the base salary range bolded above is what we expect to pay as a starting range for this position.
