We are looking for an Equipment Transport & Maintenance Technician to join our team on-site at our Elkhorn, WI location. The Equipment Transport & Maintenance Tech is responsible for the safe and efficient transport of company equipment to and from job sites, while performing routine maintenance and assisting with fleet repairs. This role ensures that all equipment and vehicles are operational, compliant, and ready to support field operations. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and holds a valid Class A CDL.

Qualifications:
  • Drivers License: Valid Class A CDL (manual transmission) with a clean driving record
  • Experience: 2 years of experience in equipment transport, fleet maintenance, or a related field
  • Technical Skills: Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with small engine and vehicle maintenance
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to anticipate challenges, troubleshoot issues, and implement effective solutions under pressure.
Schedule & Benefits:
This is a first-shift, Monday - Friday role. Some later hours or weekends may be necessary depending on workload, but infrequent. The pay range for this role is $30-$38/hr. based on recent, relevant experience as well as holding a valid Class A Drivers License with manual transmission.   • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, inspections, and maintenance performed.
  • Promptly report equipment or vehicle issues and coordinate necessary repairs.

  • Collaborate with field teams to ensure timely delivery and pickup of equipment.
  • Support the fleet & equipment team with vehicle maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Communicate clearly with dispatch and supervisors regarding schedules and equipment needs.

Partnership:
  • Coordinate with job site leaders to ensure equipment is delivered and retrieved efficiently.
  • Work with vendors and service providers for parts, repairs, or inspections as needed.
  • Assist other departments during seasonal or high-volume periods.

  • Take initiative in identifying and addressing equipment issues before they impact operations.

Perform routine maintenance on equipment (oil changes, lubrication, filter replacements, tire checks, etc.).
Assist with fleet maintenance and minor repairs under supervision.
Ensure all equipment is properly secured and transported safely.
Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle readiness.

Stewardship:
  • Protect company assets by ensuring proper handling, storage, and maintenance of equipment.
  • Follow all OSHA, DOT, and company safety regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of vehicles, trailers, and equipment storage areas.
  • Support sustainability efforts by reducing waste and promoting efficient use of resources.
Working Conditions & Employment Policies:
Physical Demands:
This role may require standing, walking, climbing ladders, bending, or kneeling for extended periods, particularly during on-site inspections or walkthroughs. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Manual dexterity, visual acuity, and the ability to hear and communicate clearly are essential for interacting with team members, reviewing plans, and navigating active job sites. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required.

Work Environment:
This position involves primarily field-based work with regular travel between job sites, equipment yards, and company facilities. The employee will operate trucks and trailers and work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow. The role requires frequent lifting, bending, and physical activity, as well as exposure to noise, dust, and mechanical hazards associated with equipment transport and maintenance. Appropriate PPE must be worn at all times, and strict adherence to DOT, OSHA, and company safety protocols is required. Early morning and evening or weekend work may be necessary to meet operational demands or respond to urgent equipment needs.
