Controller Role

We are in search of a highly skilled Controller with a specialization in Tax and Accounting. This pivotal role involves overseeing our financial operations to ensure precision and compliance. We are looking for a meticulous professional with a strategic approach to manage and guide our financial team effectively.

Core Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor the Accounting Manager in handling bookkeeping operations and processing payments.
• Engage with the executive team, including the President, Vice President, and Treasurer, on strategic financial matters.
• Prepare, review, and analyze comprehensive quarterly and annual financial reports.
• Oversee and optimize bank deposits and wire transfer processes.
• Assist the Treasurer in facilitating annual audits and managing payment distributions.
• Coordinate tax filing processes and address tax notices in collaboration with an external CPA firm.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA certification is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in public accounting, with a strong focus on tax and accounting.
• Experience in real estate and trust accounting is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks is required.
• Ability to manage confidential and independent tasks with discretion.
• Proven capability to supervise and empower an Accounting Manager.
• Excellent collaboration and team-working skills.

Location: Buffalo
