Job Description

CityScape Engineering is seeking a CAD Designer with a minimum of 3 years of professional experience to support the development of construction plans for urban greening, environmental restoration, public parks, green streets, and redevelopment projects. This role involves creating detailed drawings and plans for construction projects. The CAD Drafter will collaborate with engineers, architects, and designers to ensure that all designs meet project specifications and standards.

Applicants should have strong AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency and experience in civil/site design production. Candidates are expected to work from our Baltimore City office, with occasional fieldwork and project site visits.

Anticipated Responsibilities

•   Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to prepare technically accurate and complete construction drawings, plan sets, profiles, cross-sections, and details, adhering to company and industry CAD standards and procedures
• Review engineering drawings and retrieve information to complete drawings and layouts that meet engineering specifications
• Maintain project files, drawing standards, and templates to ensure consistent, efficient workflows
• Assist with quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and drafting revisions during design review
• Provide technical drafting support during permitting and construction phases
• Interact with engineers and designers to quickly and accurately update/correct drawings during the design process
•   Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and regulatory reviewers to resolve design and drafting issues
• Support the development of internal CAD standards and best practices

Required Experience and Skills:

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience as a CAD Designer, preferably in civil/site design, transportation, or land development
• Ability to read and understand construction plans and drawings
• Ability to read, understand, and develop site grading using contours
• Ability to develop and apply drafting/CAD standards to project tasks
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, drawing organization, proactive quality assurance, and appreciation for quality control
• Strong sense of accountability and commitment toward project success
• Possess a basic understanding of geometry/trigonometry
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting
• Ability to manage multiple drafting tasks simultaneously
• Effective written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Skills and Experience :

• Experience in an Architectural, Engineering and Construction industry
• Experience with civil 3D grading tools and generating 3D utility and/or grading profiles
• Familiarity with Baltimore City and Maryland municipal standards
