As the company expands its general contracting services to third-party clients, we are seeking a dynamic and driven Business Development Manager to lead growth efforts and help scale operations in the multifamily sector.
Job Summary
The Business Development Manager will be instrumental in driving revenue growth by identifying new opportunities, fostering strategic partnerships, and expanding the client base. Working closely with executive leadership, estimating, and preconstruction teams, this individual will spearhead go-to-market strategies and play a critical role in shaping the future of the organization’s external GC services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify and develop relationships with key decision-makers in the multifamily real estate industry, including property owners, developers, architects, and property management firms.
- Generate leads and pursue new business opportunities in target markets, including new construction, renovations, and capital improvement projects.
- Lead the proposal and bidding process in coordination with preconstruction and estimating teams.
- Attend industry events, networking functions, and trade shows to represent the company and build brand awareness.
- Maintain a pipeline of prospective clients and projects and provide regular updates to leadership.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities.
- Assist in contract negotiations and project onboarding processes.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of business development experience in the construction industry, preferably with a focus on multifamily projects.
- Strong network of industry contacts within the multifamily and real estate development sectors.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and revenue goals.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated and results-driven with a high level of professionalism.
- Familiarity with construction project lifecycles, estimating, and project delivery methods.
