Associate Scientist

12-month Contract

Onsite in Lexington, MA

Essential Functions:

• Develop robust LC/MS, IPRP, and SAX methods for analysis and purification of modified oligonucleotide drug substances
• Prepare analytical samples and analyze data using UPLC and LC-MS
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot lab instrumentation
• Design and conduct experiments for characterization of modified oligonucleotides and sgRNA
• Accurately document experimental procedures and summarize results in reports or presentations
• Support disease programs through purification, deprotection, annealing, and lyophilization of oligonucleotides
• Perform oligonucleotide synthesis
• Ensure lab safety and maintain efficient workflows
• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

1. LC/MS experience and oligonucleotide method development
2. Mass spectrometer maintenance and troubleshooting
3. Oligonucleotide purification

Qualifications:

• MS or BS in a scientific field with 3+ years of industry experience
• Strong knowledge of mass spectrometry and purification techniques
• Hands-on experience with Waters LC/MS systems (preferred)
• Experience with purification and LC/MS analysis of sgRNA (highly preferred)
• Proficient in RP-UPLC, SAX-HPLC, LC-MS, and data interpretation
• Background in analytical method development for oligonucleotide therapeutics
• Skilled in IP-RP-UHPLC and AX-HPLC using Agilent, Waters, and/or Thermo UHPLC systems
• Familiarity with GLP/GMP in a pharmaceutical setting
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams
