Job Description

Job Summary Lead in communications efforts designed to market a campus unit's products and/or services to target audiences. This position leads in the development of communications materials and promotional efforts with media representatives. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: unit management and personnel, customers and vendors. Serve as the primary communications and public relations contact for Georgia Tech men’s basketball and one additional sport:

  • Act as a liaison between programs/coaches/student-athletes and media
  • Act as programs’ communications liaison to the ACC and NCAA
  • Oversee and implement programs’ social media strategies (in conjunction with teams’ creative staffs and GTAA creative & digital strategy staff)
  • Maintain program’s presence on official website of Georgia Tech athletics (ramblinwreck.com)
  • Write press releases to promote programs and recap events
  • Write and maintain coach and student-athlete biographies
  • Maintain team statistics and records
  • Schedule photo shoots and photographers for live events; maintain programs’ photo archives
  • Nominate and promote coaches and student-athletes for awards
  • Act as media liaison for home events
  • Be required to work home and away events for those sports, as well as other home events as needed
  • Be required to work regular office hours, as well as night, weekend, and holiday work schedules
  • Assist in special projects / events as they develop
  • Assist in the implementation of Georgia Tech athletics’ overall communications and public relations strategy
  • Other duties as assigned by associate A.D./communications and public relations
