What we're looking for in AN Activities AssistantTo thrive as a Memory Care Activities Assistant at The Ivy of McKinney, candidates should possess a combination of essential skills and relevant experience. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with additional education or certification in recreational therapy or gerontology being a plus. Prior experience working with seniors, particularly those with memory impairments, is preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are vital for effective interaction with residents and team members. Creativity and enthusiasm will empower you to develop engaging activities that resonate with our residents. You should be able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for improving the lives of seniors are fundamental traits for success. Additionally, candidates must meet physical requirements, including the ability to lift to 25 pounds and engage in physical activities for extended periods, along with a willingness to work flexible hours.
